Educator and Activist

Educational Career: Mr. Price taught in the same classroom at Test Middle School for 32 years before retiring in 1997. He taught industrial arts and truly cared for his students. He was known for his kindness and genuine connection with all his students

Outside of the Classroom: Mr.Price was a talented carpenter and handyman. He built his own home as well as the Townsend Community Center Gazebo. He also taught courses at Ivy Tech Community college on carpentry. As a young man he served in the army on the military police.

Community Work: He was the president of the Richmond Indiana Chapter of the NAACP

Awards: He was recognized for his outstanding work and service to the NAACP’s goals.
