Teacher and Assistant Principal
Birth: July 23, 1943
Education: Graduated from IUPUI in 1978. Master in Education from IU and Ball State in 1981
Career: Mrs. Baker, started college at Indiana University Bloomington in Septmeber of 1962, but took a break to marry her husband in 1963. She eventually graduated from IUPUI in 1978. That same year she was hired to Richmond Community School as social studies teacher in 1978, and was laid off in 1981. This was partially because most social studies teachers at the time were white men. Also in 1981 she got her masters degree in education. After receiving this degree, she was given a part time position at Dennis Junior High School in English. In Fall of 1989 become the Director of the Chapter 1 Program. In 1992 she became an Assistant Principal a job that she held until her retirement, which she retired from on June 30,2005
Accomplishments: In 1988 she received the Teacher of the Year Award from Richmond Community Schools. She also received the administrator of the award from Richmond Community Schools for the 2002-2003 school year.
