Harold Jones
Born on February 27, 1940, Harold Jones is a graduate of Richmond High School. While at RHS he performed with the orchestra, dance band, pep band, marching band, and concert band. Harold and his brother Melvyn “Deacon” Jones were both gifted musicians; Harold leaned towards jazz while Deacon preferred blues.
As a professional drummer, Jones is best known for his work with Tony Bennett and with the Count Basie Orchestra.
Throughout his 60 year career, he has toured and recorded with famed musicians including Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Herbie Hancock, BB King, Ray Charles and Frank Sinatrah Music has taken Jones around the world where he has d, performed with musicians, at jazz festivals and withnd.
