Mrs. Street was born in 1916 in Richmond Kentucky. She started applying to teaching jobs in Richmond Indiana in the late 40’s. Every years she would take her application to Superintendent Paul Garrison, and every year it was denied. One year his secretary told Mrs. Street that if she came back with an application that year it would be thrown in the trash. Mrs. Street told the secretary that he would just have to throw it in the trash because she was going to continue applying, She finally got a job at Warner in 1967 where she worked until 1968. In 1969 she startet teaching at the state hospital where she stayed until her retirmetn in 1980.
