Kim Wright-White is a fourth generation Richmond native. She attended Richmond schools, and graduated from National Barber College – as a member of the prestigious “Who’s Who” in that institution.

She worked in her grandfather’s barber shop as a teenager, but decided later (at the suggestion of a friend and hairdresser, Ms. Ella Kelley) to pursue a career in her grandfather’s trade. She takes her inspiration from friends and family, including most especially her Granny Ruby, and her Grandmother Mary Lois Alexander, who was Senior Rose Festival Queen. She works with her cousin, Andie, in her grandfather’s shop, continuing the legacy of her family.
