Martel Winburn is a Richmond native, who has contributed in many capacities to his community over the years. He is a USAF veteran, and has worked at Richmond State Hospital, Townsend Center, Alcoa, Wayne County Health Department (27 years) – and is the first person of color to be City Building Inspector. Winburn is the founder of the Wayne County Minority Health Coalition, and an original member of the Human Rights Commission. He has also pastored six churches, and values his dedication to the ministry as part of his commitment to all his other missions. He credits his parents and grandmother for being the place where the Holy Spirit dwells, that helped guide him through his commitment to his community.
